Using INSCYD’s software and lactate testing protocol allows us to fully understand the individual components that make up your cycling fitness, and is the tool of choice for many World Tour cycling teams and national federations seeking to comprehend the unique physiology of each of their athletes. A simple lactate sampling procedure is used for the test, which is quick to administer, yet highly effective and precise. With this straightforward lactate testing protocol, it’s possible to get detailed picture of all of your physical capacities in one test, as opposed to just one single capacity (e.g. VO2max when using a traditional incremental exercise method).

INSCYD measures and connects the most important factors of cycling performance together, providing a clear set of results that outline:

Using INSCYD’s software and algorithms, we’re now able to understand the interaction between your aerobic and anaerobic system balance, which is what determines where your lactate threshold occurs as a % of your VO2max, your substrate utilisation and thus your fuelling needs during training and racing. Other testing methods like traditional incremental VO2max and lactate profile tests only reveal one part of the equation, whereas INSCYD provides the full picture. Each of the above metrics measured by INSCYD are critical to performance and no other single testing protocol can provide all of these parameters and metrics.
